Hi, I’m Lidia, I’m a Gunnai-Gunditjmara woman living on Wurundjeri Country here in our diverse and vibrant Northcote community.
As an Aboriginal leader, business owner and mum, I’ve spent my life standing up for what matters. As your MP, I’ll stand up for my community, protect our environment and fight for you.
I feel so lucky to live here in our compassionate and progressive electorate. I grew up here, my kids go to our local schools and we rent in South Preston.
In such a tight contest between Labor and the Greens, your vote is incredibly powerful.
With your help we can turn Northcote, Alphington, Thornbury, South Preston and Fairfield green. I’d love to have you join me on this journey.
Keeping Northcote liveable
We’re pretty lucky in the North. Our area is a unique place to live and very easy to love. As our population increases we will fix housing, protect our parks and green spaces, our vibrant local business culture and ensure that development is smart and sustainable.
Clean energy, not coal
We’re a community that thinks about people and the environment. We want strong action on climate change to protect our environment and ensure the future is bright for our kids. We will transition Victoria’s energy supply away from coal by supporting renewable energy.
Fast, uncrowded public transport
Getting around our area should be faster, easier and less stressful. The best way to ease congestion is by improving public transport and bike lanes. We will provide faster trams and trains, so you’re not squished in or unable to get on board.
Host a Lidia placard
We don’t take big dodgy donations like the major parties do — instead we rely on people like you to turn our streets green. We know that visibility will be critical to win this by-election. If you live in Alphington, Fairfield, Northcote, Thornbury or Preston, show your support by hosting a placard!
We pay our respects to the Wurundjeri people and their neighbouring clans. Their languages, culture and connections to Country are still strong.
